How to Create a Subdomain in cPanel
What is a Subdomain?
A subdomain is a subsection of your website that can act like its own separate site, but without needing to register a new domain name. It's a great way to organize your content. For example, if your main domain is mydomain.com, you could create a subdomain for your store at shop.mydomain.com or for your blog at blog.mydomain.com.
This guide will show you how to easily create a subdomain in your FavoHost cPanel.
Step-by-Step Guide
1. Log in to your cPanel control panel.
2. In the "Domains" section, click on the Domains icon. You can also find it by using the search box at the top right of the page.

3. On the main Domains page, click the blue button that says Create A New Domain.

4. In the Domain text box, you must enter the full subdomain you want to create. For example, if you want to create a blog, you would type blog.mydomain.com.
5. Document Root (The Folder for Your Files): This is the folder where the files for your new subdomain will be stored. cPanel will automatically suggest a folder name.
Tips: You can leave the default folder name (e.g., blog.mydomain.com), or you can uncheck the box and enter a simpler name for the folder, like blog.
-
Default: Leaving it as
blog.mydomain.comwill create a folder with that exact name. -
Simple Name: Typing
blogwill create a folder namedblog. -
Nested Folder: Typing
subdomains/blogwill create a folder namedsubdomains, and then ablogfolder inside it. -
If you have already created a folder for this subdomain, you can simply type the path to that folder here.
6. Click the Submit button.

That's it! Your new subdomain will now appear in your list of domains. You can now use the File Manager to upload files to the document root folder you just created.
